Today, @james' @Podnews revealed that @AntennaPod the amazing open-source podcast player, just added transcript support! 🎉
"Version 3.5 of podcast app AntennaPod now displays Podcasting 2.0 transcripts, joining Pocket Casts and Apple Podcasts."
This is a game-changer for accessibility, SEO, discoverability, and the ability to quickly search within an episode.
Huge shout-out to the AntennaPod team, especially Tony Tam, for developing this awesome transcript feature! 🙌

So I wasn't making transcripts in vain...
@Castopod @AntennaPod I don't have the 'Show transcript' menu item in my version 3.5... downloaded from F-droid. Can you help me?
@cedricdes @Castopod The menu item is only shown if the podcast you are listening to supports transcripts.
@projetslibres_podcast you are the ones that introduced me to Castopod but your podcats doesn't support transcripts?
@cedricdes @AntennaPod @Castopod this is THE very good question 😀
I'm currently using gladia to create the transcript. The I spend something like 3 hours per episode to rework the transcript in WordPress. If I want to support the podcasting transcript tag, I need to find a way to reuse my work. Or maybe I need to find a way to work differently
@benjaminbellamy , I'm sure you have an idea👍
Transcripts in podcasts aren’t just about ease of use; they represent the potential of open, collaborative initiatives like Podcasting 2.0 (thank you @adam and @dave!) to uplift an entire industry. 🌍
It’s been an incredible journey—from the early Podcasting 2.0 dreamers, through dedicated developers who believe in decentralization, to now seeing Apple adopt this specification in Apple Podcasts!
