#fediHelp #learningQuestion:

Is there a way to tell castopod which php version to use if several options are available on a VPS installation, for example with a line in the .env file?

In other software the following is used:
'php_path' => '/usr/bin/php'
'php_path' => '/etc/php/8.1/fpm/'

Yeah @bitpickup,
maybe @admin can help us out?

@Castopod

This @utopiarte sounds like you refer to your "long shot wild idea" proposal directed to the @helpers site to offer fediVerse platforms like castopod the tools friendica community pages bring to the table of community support.

We already integrated castopod to our setup with a shared hosting subdomain and a VPS hosted subdomain, so yes, it looks like more than useful for us and the community to provide such a community profile for users and admins of castopod instances in the fediVerse. It also gives us the chance to give something back to castopod and as this doesn't imply any involvement by @Castopod itself, in any case they can follow that profile to be up to date about eventual conversations in that fediverse forum page, this proposal looks more than reasonable to implement.

Actually in any case there are details like the fact that the term "castopod" itself is trademarked, and probaly the logo too, while the software is published under AGPL 3. Letting the castopod people know of the existence of such a forum page out here in the fedi on a common ground CC-BY-CA-NC server and designing a comprehensive disclaimer pointing out the mentioned details and the intention to simply support castopod and those who implement it, this should be "an idea good to go". Unless they oppose to it, of course. No need even to endorse it either. As long as this proposal doesn't infringe our TOS, and that of course includes the respect of the castopod people themselves, work it out.

Do you consider a language specific forum page?
Set it up from your profile, be the contact in any case for the people in charge of castopod, list it in our directory and moderate in the case the idea or forum get's out of hand.
