Last weekend, @Castopod had the privilege of being part of the International Broadcasting Convention (established in 1967!), the leading global event for professionals in the media, entertainment, and technology industries. 🎥🌍

We were honored to be invited by EBU to the Open Source Meetup :oss:, where we presented Castopod in a 5-minute session.

A special thank you to Ben Poor for the invitation and to Frans De Jong for filming and editing the video!

🚨 🚨

We are happy to report that the issues with our hosting provider, OVH, have been resolved, and everything is back to normal. All podcasts hosted on Castopod should be accessible as usual.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. If you continue to experience any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thank you.

@NatureMC If the price is what matters the most, go with Spotify for Podcasters, they're 100% free. But free as in free beer, not free as in free speech.

@NatureMC If you are looking for the cheapest way to host you podcasts, shared hosting might be a good solution. Or you can self host using, for instance, YunoHost, it even runs on a Raspberry Pi.
On the other hand, our hosting offers provide CDN, storage, bandwidth, backup, updates, unlimited podcasts, unlimited users, monitoring... So no, I cannot let you say that they are expensive. That is what is costs.

@todb A bot is something we have been thinking about…
But what we really need is feedback from the community to know what would be helpful!
We'd really like to see more interactions with podcasts on the Fediverse.

@Castopod

Hi there!

Does it run on shared hosting?
Does it support RSS?

@NatureMC Hosting a podcast with Castopod is exctly the same as hosting a blog with Wordpress.
Castopod is a server application that manages everything you need for your podcasts, plus ActivityPub, plus analytics, plus it is multi-tenant, multi-user, plus many other things. See docs.castopod.org for more info.
We also provide hosting services on castopod.com if you don't want to manage the hosting yourself. (Exactly as WordPress does.)
